Autumn and other things

Fall is here, time for pumpkins, falling leaves and apple cider! Love this time of year! Still recuping from the shoulder surgery. I don't know why I thought that once I had the surgery it would be "fixed" and I would be fine. My Physical Therapists said that yes it's fixed but it was 6 months of not using my shoulder prior to the surgery and 4-6 weeks of swelling and healing after the surgery, so it is going to take time. It's funny, but I want everything instantly. I guess some of that is due to the "Instant" society we live in. Dinner? Put it in the microwave for 4 min. Cake? No more cooking from scratch, whip up a cake mix in 5 min and bake. Fast food, get rich quick, we live in a society that doesn't teach us to wait. Patience is a virtue, but not one that many have and I believe our culture perpetuates the "I deserve it now" mentality. What happened to working for what you want? Now people think the government "owes" them. Sorry to get off on a tangent! They that wait upon the Lord, will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings as eagles. They will walk and not be weary, they will run and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Feeling Old!

There's nothing like surgery to remind us we aren't young and resilient anymore! Left shoulder was done last Wednesday and stiff isn't even close to describing! Praise God, He makes all things new! Interesting post on Pastor Pete's blog about telling our story. MorningStar did that last year emphasizing that we all have a story to tell about the miraculous things God does in our lives. Check out Pastor Pete's blog (link on this blog page). Presidential debate was on last night. Praying that whomever God wants in office will be elected (but I'm hoping it's Romney)!

Too long!

It has been way too long since I posted! Not like anyone ever reads this anyway! I went to the Reading Sovreign Center to see Beth Moore and Travis Cottrell! This was something I never thought I would ever get to do! It was awesome! I have followed both online for years, probably about 5-6 yrs and finally got to see them live! Tomorrow I have surgery on my shoulder. Not fun but I can't wait to be out of pain. I've been dealing with this since March.While the doc is in there, he will remove my bursa which is inflamed and damaged from inflammation, "shave" off the arthritis and repair any issues with my rotator cuff. Currently doing "Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage" with our small group and this guy is simply hilarious! He hits the nail on the head! After that we start 40 days of Purpose. I can't believe it's been about 9 years since we did that study! Time flies! Psalm 27:14 Wait for the Lord; Be strong, and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.
